Survived an unexpected trip to Olive Garden!

I’m happy to report that I had two major accomplishments today:

  • I did okay at a random, unplanned trip to Olive Garden today for dinner
  • I did well even though I was very tired, which is often my worst days – I find it much harder to have motivation on those days

I kept snacking to a minimum, mostly because I was so busy that I didn’t have much time to think about food – that always helps! After work, a friend called and wanted me to go to Olive Garden, so I did. I had minestrone soup – 160 calories and very filling and delicious; ONE breadstick (our food came so quickly that wasn’t as much of a challenge as it often is); and half of the lunch sized five cheese ziti. I gave the rest to the friend, so I don’t have to eat it or throw it away. Then I worked out for about 50 minutes on the elliptical and the treadmill at the Y. I didn’t push msyelf to hard today, but I still burned 470 calories! Honestly, I was so exhausted when I got home from work, I probably would have talked myself out of going to the Y if it weren’t for the fact that I had arranged to go with a friend. And I’m so glad I went. Once I got started working out, I didn’t feel so tired, and it wasn’t bad at all. Here’s todays journal:
