For some reason, I’m never sure what to say on these “About Me” pages. I’ll just stick to a brief description for now. This blog is primarily about my weight loss journey, although I do post occassionaly about some random other things. I’m 24, and I have struggled with my weight since I was about 14. My weight has gone up and down. I’ve “dieted,” been successful, only to gain it all back again and then some. I’ve tried to “change my lifestyle” as seems to be the recommended thing to do these days, only to have the same results – lose some weight, then gain it all back with interest. (Obviously, I didn’t succeed in making a lifestyle change. I do agree that it is key to change the lifestyle – I just need to do it permanently.) I won’t bore you with all the details of my weight history. Suffice it to say, 7 weeks ago I was at my all time highest weight (not brave enough to say what that weight was yet, but to give you an idea – I’m a size 18, I’m 5’4″ and have almost 100 pounds to lose). My basic plan/philosophy is to journal everything I eat and count calories. I find that to be the simplest (and most proven, scientific) way to go about things. I don’t have a set calorie goal, but I would like my net calories per day to average less than 1200. My major food problems are sweets-primarily chocolate and snacking or grazing. So I’m cutting my snacking almost entirely and very drastically cutting back on the sweets and plain breads. Hope you enjoy reading.

I just tonight discovered the other parts of your blog. I love it! Keep up the good work. BTW… I want to go shopping with you on your HUGE shopping spree.

I’m exactly what you were…size 18, 5’4, 100 pounds to lose and not telling my weight! I get it! Keep going!!! We can do it.

I will mention that I tend to have bigger meals for breakfast and lunch and I don’t feel the need to snack, but that’s just me! 😀
